Lightweight Series 3 ex RAF Landrover

I have owned this vehicle for around 15 years, it was bought for interest only and hardly used, stored totally inside during my ownership.
Manufactured in 1978 it was used by the RAF and still has it’s military record plate.
The chassis number matches the plates and is original. It was released from the military in 1992 to Kinross Motor Auctions, Bridgend.
Wearing its original canvas cover, in good condition, it has only covered around 38,680 km, or 24,175 miles according to its speedometer, I cannot verify if this is genuine or not but it looks reasonable considering the condition of the vehicle.
It has had two front springs replaced, all it’s brake shoes, all new brake springs, all wheel cylinders rebuilt, brake master cylinder rebuilt with new seals, clutch master and slave cylinders rebuilt with new seals, wheels stripped and repainted with 4 new tyres, steering box rebuilt, new steering ball joints where required, recently replaced 3 front seats, rear seats have been repainted and fold up if required, spare wheel plus spare rim included, new windscreen glass on near side, new wiper blades, all lights work with correct military headlights.
The engine is a petrol 2.5 litre, 5 bearing crank unit which has replaced the original unit, this is a stronger and much more reliable engine and is a straight replacement.
The bodywork is excellent for its age as can be seen from the pictures. The chassis has been re waxoiled to soften and cover the original military under seal and to further prevent corrosion.
Bad points, the temperature gauges ( oil and water ) do not work but I have a replacement for one of them.
Located in Lancashire and well worth inspecting, please call me on the number below.
